  description Casa de la Cultura de Tijuana  Sculpture and Installations  Special Collections & Archives, UC San Diego, La Jolla, 92093-0175 (https://lib.ucsd.edu/sca)  Spring Hurlbut's work for inSITE97, "Columna serpiente, autosacrificio," was installed in the staircases of the Casa de la Cultura in Tijuana. Hurlbut designed cast-plaster Greek columns covered in coiling serpents, and column bases holding pairs of skeletal feet.
