Emmanuel Dibujó Para Frida Kahlo Con Su Mente Y Con Su Cuerpo
title Emmanuel Dibujó Para Frida Kahlo Con Su Mente Y Con Su Cuerpodescription Cat.3 099(38) From the "Homenaje a Frida Kahlo from El Día de los Muertos" Exhibition at the Galería de la Raza, curated by René Yáñez, Ralph Maradiaga, Kate Connell, María Pinedo, Carmen Lomas Garza and Amalia Mesa-Bains. In the center is a portrait of Frida Kahlo. As a painter in the bottom right corner hands her an infant, Death swoops in from the left side to intercept. On either side of Frida is a nude woman whose hair is grass or plants. Each one uses on hand to point to a different side of a central Yin Yang symbol (Monad). The woman on the left holds a hammer in the other hand, the right a sickle. In the grassy area in the upper corners are female revolutionaries, left, and indigenous masks and Frida as a deer, right.
