She could not read or write but could cook with the best of them. She cooked at the ranch for Van Neil, Oscar & Tommy Wells. She also cooked in Marfa, Texas for Mrs. Brite. To the left, there is a young man in rolled-up pants and a dark jacket; he is holding the hand of the older woman next to him who is wearing a long, dark dress. In the middle, there is another older woman wearing a light-colored dress and holding what appears to be a bunch of flowers. To the right, there are two older men, wearing suits and hats. The one to the left has a pipe in his mouth and the one to the left is wearing tall boots. They are standing in the dirt in front of a sidewalk. In the background, there is a building with windows and a porch that looks like a house. At the bottom of the photograph, there are handwritten names labeling the woman to the left "Mrs. W. W. title Chuck Wagondescription In this photograph, there are four men standing around a parked wagon amidst some brush. Two men are standing to the left of the wagon, wearing work clothes and boots. They are standing in front of a small building with a fenced-in porch. There are some bundles sitting outside the porch, to the left of the wagon. To the right of the first two men, there is a third man in dark overalls with his hands in a silver tub, perhaps doing dishes. The tub is on a folded-out table on the back of a wagon with large wheels. Above the table, there are several shelves with various objects on them. In front of the wagon, there are a variety of buckets or pots sitting on the ground. The fourth man is leaning against the right side of the wagon and appears to be eating. title Marfa Familydescription In this photograph, several people are standing on an unpaved road against a wooden fence which encloses a house and yard. In the foreground there are seven people, from left to right: a young boy dresed casually; an older gentleman dressed in a suit and tie holding his hat at his side; a young child dressed in white sitting on a fence post and being held by a woman in a white dress; a second woman, also in a white dress and holding a baby; and another man, also dressed in a suit and tie, wearing a hat and standing in the yard (on the other side of the fence). Behind them, the house is built out of bricks and has a small porch with white pillars, a chair, and some plants in containers.
