The Gillen family members pose outside their slum dwelling before their relocation to a housing project. This dwelling housed 4 children and three adults in 3 rooms and rented for $50 per month. It had no hot water, no refrigerator, and they shared toilet facilities. Mr. Gillen is a laborer.
