Artist Encuentros
Artist Encuentros are collaborative, artist-centered digitization initiatives designed to preserve, share, and celebrate the work of contemporary Mexican heritage artists. Working and co-creating with artists, our team of educators and their students select, digitize, and generate the information that makes the art discoverable in MAAS1848. Our Chicana feminist methods of respect, reciprocity, care, and equity ensure that each digital record captures not only the artwork, but also the artist’s stories and context.
