Chicano Park Steering Committee, Union Del Barrio, Mecha Central's the Brown Berets, and many others march down Logan Avenue in front of Chicano Park. "Caltrans Retrofits intentions of destroying the murals by covering each pillar with cement for the protection of the public concerns regarding earthquakes damaging transportation bridges. Marches and pickets, demonstrations, clean-up campaigns, meetings with Caltrans, City of San Diego, and the San Diego Unified Port District." Salvador Torres
